Castello Banfi, 2003
Brunello di Montalcino, Sangiovese

“Banfi’s 2003 Brunello di Montalcino is a big, full-bodied, intense wine loaded with dark jammy fruit, spices and licorice. Most of the wine’s charm is in its up-front personality as the finish is short and the tannins are astringent, most likely a combination of the quality of the fruit in this vintage and an exuberant use of French oak. While an excellent wine in absolute terms, there is very little that speaks to Brunello di Montalcino here. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016.” (Robert Parker 88 points)

Talenti, 2000
Brunello di Montalcino, Sangiovese

The "heart" of the red wine from the Talenti Winery, produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes is the Brunello di Montalcino. The grapes come from the estates best vineyards where the vines were planted in 1981. The wine, following a precise wine-making process matures in oak barrels (26 and 18 hl) and a small percentage in tonneau of 500 litres for 2 years and then 12 months in bottles before being released on the market. The wine presents ruby red in colour, its bouquet is intense, characteristic, delicate and harmonious, with vanilla and red fruit tones and an ample warm flavour. It's persistence of great harmony and taste along with it's structure and complexity is such as to render the wine much longevity.
